Silk Water

How to care for silk sheets

Sleeping in the synthetic fibers can be an uncomfortable experience. Synthetic materials are generally hot and humid during the summer months and cold during winter. Although cotton sheets are more comfortable than sleeping on sheets made of material facts by man can be a bit thick, especially if they have a high number of threads and are prone to wrinkles. Silk sheets are luxurious to the sleeper restless. However, since they are a bit more expensive than other types of leaves, the silk sheets care is a major concern.

Most silk sheets are designed for machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water. However, you should check if a label with washing instructions on their leaves before assuming that are machine washable. Some silk sheets must be hand washed in cold water instead.

No matter how clean the sheets, not use a traditional laundry detergent or bleach. These chemicals are too strong for silk and silk can cause to break, which is a condition where the silk fabric is broken to pieces, literally. Instead, you should use a strong detergent silk. In an emergency, you can try washing with Ivory soap leaves, which is extremely smooth.

Once you wash the sheets, it is time to dry. Do not squeeze out to remove any water still in them, because they are too sensitive to handle this situation. Instead, you can gently shake the leaves to remove a little water and then hang carefully through an indoor clothesline or drying rack to dry.

Using a blow dryer to dry the leaves is a bad idea, since heat can cause the silk to shatter. Even if the sheets come out of the dryer looking unscathed, not last as long as air-dried leaves, because the heat causes the fragile silk thread. Leaves drying on a clothesline outdoors is a bad idea for the same reason. After all, the sun can give off much heat. In addition, sunlight may actually damage the color of its silk sheets.

Finally, if you is overwhelmed by the idea of caring for silk sheets, you may want to consider that short. Make sure you let your dry cleaning to know that sheets are made of silk before being delivered. A good dry cleaning knows exactly how to clean and iron the silk without damaging it.
