Plant your own garden gifts

If you are looking for ways for you or your children to provide cheap presents for the extended family, or as give gifts that have a personal element to them, then here is one or two suggestions for you.

If you're looking to make a gift for the gardener family or someone who has recently moved into his own home, someone in an apartment or unit, or a person may not drive a full size garden, or a member of the family that loves to cook with fresh ingredients, etc. So why consider giving some of your own garden? Here I am talking about plants that have divided the facilities outside their own backyard.

There are many plants that grow in average garden can be divided, or that have naturally self layered themselves. Where could go and take along a section rooted, pot and dressed with a little container plantation can produce a very nice gift for someone you matter.

These plants are many herbs and perennials and shrubs and some trees that manage to send self-layering branches or suckers the root system. Some perennials or bulbs increase in size or number of bulbs over time. Chance seedlings coming up in the wrong place to You can also easily be used. All these provide an opportunity to cheaply create a wonderful gift for someone else.

First things first you have to get a number of plastic pots leftover population additions to the garden, or someone you know, or you can go out and buy a pot plastic / ceramic / clay tiles, etc., to meet their needs. If the person you are giving the plant is not a real gardener, then you might consider getting a pot with wells at the base to increase the chances of surviving plants.

Next, you need to start looking for your plants, for a close look at your garden around the ground. Take a look at the plants are showing multiple stalks that emerge from the earth. Or those expanding plants where a branch has leaned more to the land and root along the branch, perhaps one in which one branch has ventured into the mulch.

Or one where there is a piglet growing land a short distance from the parent plant. Another possibility is that seedlings growing in the garden a distance from the parent plant material. Perhaps there is a group of plants or a major revision of the bulbs where you can make something of division.

Many of these plants benefit from being divided or that they allow a greater margin growth in the particular area where they have removed some material.

Different parts of Australia have a range of different species of plants that lend themselves to this form of self-propagation. If you can not find any plants that are doing this in your own backyard, why not look at a garden friends or neighbors. Or you could join forces and make joint use of plants present in another family member garden. Or another possibility is to buy a plant in a pot has several plants already established there.

Divide that up before using the medium in its own garden, and still have half of replanting and gifts. Even if you not sure of their gardening skills can still pick up cheap plants at local markets, school / church fair, garage sale etc. Repot them into a or larger pot for a nicer present fairly inexpensive.

Another possibility is multiplant some different plants in a long or large round tub. This create an instant garden movement. Some topics you might consider here is herbs, indoor leaves, bulbs, annuals, Alpine / rock, cactus / succulents, or even patio gardens mix of annuals and perennials.

It is best to moisten the soil around the plant that will work well before to the division, as this allows you to remove as much root mass during the division process.

The first step is to divide the bush or cut the branch to join together to separate the plant available. Then, using a shovel, garden fork or spoon, dig so far from the potential plant as possible, because this will give the largest possible root mass.

Down to the extent you think you need, (depending on circumstances such as the size of the new plant, species of original plant material, soil type, plants or landscaping materials in the area, etc.). As gentle as you can dig the new plant. Shake off excess soil and fill the resulting hole in the ground if necessary.

Prune back the foliage of the new plant about the size of the root mass, trying to protect some of new foliage growth. Replant as soon as possible so that the roots do not dry out and die.

Another thing to consider is what kind of pot in the plant WILL, if it's just a plastic, then it is necessary to prepare beforehand. However, if you're looking at the painting, then do this before you get to digging.

When painting to pots, they need to do some preparation work for the paint to stick properly. Plastic pots should have their surface rough with a little sandpaper. While some terracotta pots have been applied to a first exterior surface before painting. Try not to primer or paint on the inside of the pot, because the most usual, there are still some paints which contain chemicals that can affect ao contaminate soil and plant in time.

Other possibilities for decorating up pots are simply paste in pieces such as stones, tiles, buttons, sticks, shells, ornaments, ribbons, adhesives and stickers, etc. Other ways to decorate a pot to the initial presentation is to wrap the pot only (not the real plant), using wrapping paper, cellophane, fabric, cheap or even teatowel sacking. Keep these containers in the place with a rope, belt, scarf, scarf, etc.

Other possibilities to add value Potplant is to provide a growing information and name tags for the plant / s included. Other quirks include a tag you can add your custom name, (Hello, my name is David, the Diffenbachia…), Or an indicator of low water, miniature hand tools, small amounts of fertilizer, pot ornaments, shower, etc

As you can see, creating a very personal gift for almost anyone can be readily available to anyone. Why not go to your garden and start thinking about what is presented may be preparing for Christmas this weekend.
