How long stunted live fish?
I saw a question about the stunting of fish and wondered how long they live. My neighbor has 2 goldfish in a tank of 20 gallons. They are almost 7 years now. Is this normal? I think they are comets because they are straight. (idk how to explain) They are about 4 inches long. Maybe less.
Stunting isn't one thing in black and white. It has different levels. So it's possible that fish in a 20gal not grown to full size, but not so bad that the stunting of the reduced life expectancy. It just means they will never size complete. In a 50gal tank that may have grown larger. If they were in a 5gal tank, would be wrong and would have prevented died years ago. Anyone who can keep goldfish alive for 7 years of doing a good job taking care of your fish. Ian
