Foot wooden forms around dangerous to Koi Pond Koi?
I used the "untreated" wood that I bought at Lowes to build a road walk around my koi pond. Now I hear that may not be safe. The concern is that when the rain comes to "chemical leak" unsafe in the pond of Koi Fish kill. I bought this wood instead of the "treated" wood thinking it would be safe. Is this treated wood after all, and when rain is chemical run this timber in my pond and harm my koi? Thank you.
The typical choice is cedar, redwood or other hardwoods for natural climate robustness untreated. If the wood he used was not treated then it should be fine. However, if it was a soft wood it is probable rotting faster than you would like to use water unless in accordance with nontoxic sealant. Have a read here for the type of product you need. Sorry http://www.koicarp.net/pond_construction/paints_stains/wood_stain.html I can not find the product at Lowes, but it's worth asking. Your best bet is a dedicated output supply tanks.
