Carbon filter for my Fish Tank?
Hey I don’t really get my carbon filter i haven’t changed it in 1-2 months will it harm my fish if i don’t change it? Also can i just add gravel or something to my filter to help filtration? aslo what else can i do to help my filter, filter my fish tank?

No not changing the filter in about 2 months will not harm you fish unless the filter is running slow at that point…..
as far as carbon depending on the about used it last about 2 weeks more if more carbon is used….and carbon does not release the particles in it….no i do recommend replacing carbon every month as it does remove phenol with naturally forms and can give water that yellow color….it also removes any house hold chemicals that may make there way into the tank….and also carbon keep the tank from smelling as much….
i would not put gravel in the filter as it my reduce the flow…most filters already have some type of bio media for bacteria growth…..
if you would like to add anything else to your filter i would only recommend something like “Seachem Purigen” that works like carbon but better
