Help turn on a saltwater tank deep!?
I just bought a 47 gallon tank, 30t "x 19W x 19l (deposition of the column). I've been reading a lot about lighting saltwater but I was not sure because my tank is a strange way. Right now I have a 18 "with a strip light glo Marine 15W. I just put in the LS and Salt Water, and will soon add LR. It should even be concerned with the light yet? What light is the need to LR? I also wonder if I should be running the filter and the head of power at this time although there are no fish. Thanks in advance for your help! only fish … for the time being
If you just make a tank FOWLR (fish only with Live Rock), then I would not be too concerned about the lighting, but 15 w is really low. If you want to put some kind of coral you have to buy a Metal Halide pendant fixture, I'd say around 250 watts. If you run the filter and Power Head and the skimmer (I hope you have one).
