Aquarium Driftwood

Aquarium Driftwood
I just got some driftwood to my tank .. turned the water brown. How long until it goes clear again?

Is there anything I can do to help speed the process, I have heard of boiling, but there is something else I can do? Thanks

The time the water will stay brown depend on the amount of driftwood in the tank and filter. Do not expect the water to remain that way for long. A good preventive advice if you do not want discolor the wood for the tank is to soak the wood in a big bucket for 24-48 hours before adding wood to the tank. You can always take the wood out now and enjoy or make a little change of water (if water exchange is not too out of hours). The color change is not harmful, and in the case of many American tanks South oriented, may even be sought.
